How to backup my rutorrent RSS settings and filters ?

Posted April 7th, 2017    4362   0   faq

Rutorrent stores its rss settings and filter list in a single file, in json format, which - although rare - is easy to get corrupted over time.

We highly recommend that you backup your rss settings periodically, so that if anything happens, you will be able to restore them to any rutorrent instance.

In order to backup your settings, you need to connect via SFTP or SSH to your account, and keep a copy of the following folder:

~/.www/rutorrent/share/users/username/settings/rss/

You should replace username and servername, with your account username and your server's name respectively.

I cannot access that folder when connecting through FTP to my account.
Is this information still relevant ?

You need to connect with SFTP or SSH in order to see the hidden folders

This info is out of date. The settings folder to backup is now:
$RTHOME/share/users/$USER/settings

If you have custom themes I also recommend backing up:
$RTHOME/plugins/theme/themes/
