FTP TO SEEDBOX HOW TO RESUME TO SEED

IF I ALREADY HAVE A RELEASE,HOW DO I SEND IT VIA FTP,THEN JUST RESUME IT,AS THEY ARE THEY SAME FILES,EACH TIME I TRIED IT STARTS TO DOWNLOAD THE RELEASE AGAIN

1- If your release already on your PC and you wanna use FTP - use Filezilla to upload it to your box - ( how to use filezilla or any FTP client for transferring Data , read :

But if you wanna get your release which’s already downloaded from on the other Box and you wanna use FTP at that time use SeedBucket , just make new remote and copy - read :

You have other choices like resilio and syncthing but SeedBucket is easiest way just one click .

2- When you get your release to your box you should make reseed at that time NOT download it again .

3- So you need .torrent file of your release from tracker or you can get it from your old torrent client; right click on torrent - get .torrent file .

4- run your .torrent file in new client but check on don’t start automatically in rtorrent, if you use Deluge after you add .torrent file go to option and same select don't start automatically .

5- now you will see your torrent in pause state - right click and save as - choose the destination of your release folder which transferred by FTP .

6- right click - force recheck - wait it will take time depend on your torrent release size . if force recheck not started so there's 2 possibility ; your .torrent file and release not matching OR you select wrong destination .

7- then right click - start seeding

I have the release from elsewere,so wanna seed on another site to gain for ratio,but each time i try it just starts downloading it it again, i use rtorrent,is there a way to switch to rtorrent? I want to seed it from the box not home,home speed is useless lol

HELP,SORRY FOR 'CAP'S I TYPED IT ALL THEN NOTICED

You are not doing step #5 as described by tortellini.

Make sure that after adding the torrent in paused status, you change the default download path to the path that you just uploaded the files through FTP (e.g. /home/user/upload).
This can be achived at the rtorrent web UI, just right click the paused torrent and select "Save to.." option to change the path.
Or if you are using seedbucket, you can right click the torrent and select "Change Path.." and navigate to the folder you uploaded the files.

The proceed to step #6 by issuing a force-recheck (don't just "start" the torrent!) and everything should be fine.
