RARs in PLEX (via rar2fs?)

Is there anyway to play media files which are compressed (into multiple small rar's) in PLEX? I realize Plex has no support for this, but was reading about rar2fs which can effectively let you handled compressed files as if they were uncompressed on-the-fly. Is there any way to install such a program on my seedbox, or alternative workaround? I don't want to have to extract every dl, since I need to leave them seed for quite a while, and that would effectively half my disk space.
